A previous trash talking by opponent Nick Diaz prior to Anderson Silva's next fight has been responded by "The Spider's" camp, as the former UFC middleweight champion sent his warning if his challenger continues to do so.

Anderson Silva's next fight against Diaz is scheduled for January 31st for UFC 183 in Las Vegas. But in June, the former welterweight contender had some words to say with regards to "The Spider" and his training.

"I'll tell you what, I think [Silva] should fire his trainer and hire himself a boxing trainer that teaches him how to put punches out," Diaz said in an interview with Fight Hub. "Of course he's got as many fights as he wants to have, but people saying s**t like, 'He should retire. He's not going to be the same.' I'm like, 'Fire your coach and get somebody to train your punches.'

"The Spider's" camp responded to the said interview, which happened four months prior, during the pre-fight media day in Brazil for Anderson Silva's next fight. The fighter's boxing coach Luis Dorea himself was the one who responded.

"It's part of promoting, he's got a good level (of boxing)," Dorea said in a report by MMA Fighting. "But ... Anderson is a lot more superior technically. Nick Diaz is strong, he comes forward, but Anderson, with his natural ability, he's much better."

Nick Diaz has been known to engage in a war of words with his would-be opponents, particularly before the fight happens. He has most famously gotten the ire of former champion Georges St-Pierre when they faced each other in March 2013 at UFC 158.

As a veteran in the mixed martial arts game, Silva is expecting the same treatment from Diaz, but he did send out a warning if it does happen.

"I think my work has nothing to do with my personality, but I don't like to be disrespected as a man," Silva said in Portuguese. "I think you need to have respect as an athlete and as a man. If he disrespects me, things are going to happen as they need to happen."
