"Reign" season 2 spoilers divulge challenges on and off screen as rumors of an impending cancellation haunt the teen historical fiction drama, following the lackluster performance of its premiere episode.
Christian Today shared this speculation regarding the CW series after episode 1, which is entitled "The Plague," fell short of the expected rating with only 1 million viewers. Not to be dispirited easily, the show's creators beefed up episode 2 entitled "Drawn and Quartered" with suspenseful plot twists.
Breathe Cast presented the strong possibility that Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis (Toby Regbo) would undergo some personal transformation. This may occur in the process of their stepping up to the plate while governing their people given their newly acquired powers as king and queen of France.
With their nation at the throes of a devastating famine, which has already claimed thousands of people, how will Mary and Francis cope with their immense responsibilities? Balancing their commitment to their people and to each other would be quite a hefty challenge at this point.
But the "Reign" season 2 spoilers show that Mary learns eventually that she and Francis would be dealing with bigger personal challenges aside from the famine.
On the feature shown at Christian Today, the new king and queen find themselves facing more troubles. They are as follows:
- After the death of Lord Edward, his father Narcisse charges to the castle, seeking revenge for his son, whom he claims was murdered. Francis then commands the arrest of Nostradamus who is accused of being responsible for Edward's death.
- While locked inside the dungeon, Queen Catherine pays Nostradamus a visit. She tells him that he would not have landed in prison if he had not helped Queen Mary. The guards process of questioning the seer was a brutal procedure that could cost him his life. It is now up to Mary to do what she can to vindicate Nostradamus and save him from imminent death.
- Now that Francis has no choice but to let Lola and their child stay in the palace, would their presence strain his relationship with Mary? Mary's inability to conceive can make it hard for her to deal with her husband's concubine and their son.
How will the royals fare given these hefty challenges? Fans would find out in the next "Reign" season 2 spoilers.
