Serena Williams' rumored boyfriend, coach Patrick Mouratoglou, is seemingly the farthest from the athlete's concern, as the Grand Slam champion arrived in Changi Airport possibly to compete in the BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore.
The world's no. 1 women's tennis champ landed at the airport on Thursday afternoon which belied reports of her pulling out of the exhibition games following her injury sustained during the Wuhan Open, said Straits Times.
The Women's Tennis Association tweeted a photo of the tennis champ inside the service vehicle looking quite tired from the plane trip. Serena Williams 'boyfriend' Patrick Mouratoglou, however, wasn't in the photo.
The two have been warding off the rumors about their relationship.
In an article by Page Six in August, Serena Williams and alleged boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou were reportedly seen on a romantic date at the Bagatelle around 9:30 p.m. The article even noted the food that they ordered which consisted of crab salad, oysters and truffled chicken.
"They seemed very intimate and they didn't stop chatting all night. They headed back to their hotel after about an hour and a half," a witness told Page Six.
The same article also said that the Serena Williams' boyfriend rumors were seemingly confirmed by former tennis star Maria Sharapova who told on the champion who previously described her as boring.
"Maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids," Sharapova said.
Serena Williams boyfriend news, however, won't be the highlight of the WTA Finals event as it's going to be her on court rivalry with Maria Sharapova.
All these hoopla, said Oregon Live, might just allow wildcard Agniesza Radwanska to surprise some people.
"What are we to make of the counterpunching Pole? Of all the great players on the WTA tour, she's the most fun to watch play -- when, that is, she's not the most frustrating," sportswriter Douglas Perry wrote.
