The iPad Air 2 specs were officially unveiled during Apple's special event on October 16.
The new iPad is officially the thinnest tablet Apple has come out with. Measuring 6.1mm thick, the iPad Air 2 sports a thinner design than the 7.5mm thick iPad Air. However, the front design, height and width of the new iPad has not changed.
According to MacWorld, "Apple said it trimmed off some of the iPad's disgusting obesity by removing the air gaps between the interior plates and bringing them closer together (which apparently also reduces internal reflections)."
Here are a few more information about the iPad Air 2 specs:
Display
No significant upgrade was made to the new Apple tablet. Reports previously speculated that the iPad Air 2 will have the iPhone 6's Retina HD. But the new iPad's display basically bears the same resolution and size.
MacWorld reports, "But one screen modification Apple did talk about was an anti-reflective coating. The company said this is something that hasn't been done on a tablet before, and will reduce reflections by 56 percent. Apple's glossy screens have historically tended to be on the reflective side, so this could be a nice (if unglamorous) upgrade."
Camera
iPad Air 2 specs confirm that the new tablet has upgraded its camera. Its iSight camera is now 8MP, but its front-facing cam retains the 1.2MP.
However, new features have been added for the camera savvy users. The iPad Air 2 now has a panorama, slo-mo, timer mode, burst mode and time-lapse features.
