Christian Bale is one of the actors who are reportedly negotiating to play the role of Steve Jobs in the Apple co-founder's biopic. Leonardo DiCaprio was also one of those who were in line for this huge spot, but he reportedly bowed out of the project so that he could have a "lengthy break" from acting.

This could only mean that an immensely high profile acting job is still on the table and is up for grabs for the worthy actor.

Last year's "Jobs," which was also about Steve Jobs, starred new daddy Ashton Kutcher in the title role. Moreover, this upcoming biopic has struggled quite a bit, especially after David Fincher to get off the director's seat.

Its screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, who was also behind the script for "The Social Network." It is based on the international bestseller book, Jobs, by Walter Isaacson. Most of the drama will be taking place backstage when the mega company was still launching its NeXT, Mac, and iPod.

Sorkin compared this project to "writing about the Beatles" due to the fact that there were so many people out there who already know about the late Steve Jobs and revere him.

Fans have been exerting effort to ship the "Dark Knight" star, Christian Bale, to play Steve Jobs's part since he resembled his physical appearance so closely.

Bale is reportedly "still negotiating for the Travis McGee pic, 'The Deep Blue Goodbye' at Fox." Some sources allegedly stated that the negotiations are taking much longer than initially expected because Bale was reportedly not interested in doing a "Deep Blue" sequel while Fox was quite adamant on having one.

Later, insiders tipped that Bale would most likely do the Steve Jobs biopic in the spring then follow it up with the 'The Deep Blue Goodbye.'
