Christina Aguilera will reportedly return to the eighth season of "The Voice." Even if the seventh season has not been concluded yet, apparently, the network already has plans for season eight.

Carson Daly, the host of the show, announced on "Today" on Tuesday morning that the "I Turn to You" singer will be returning to the show and will get comfortable on Gwen Stefani's chair.

It looks like Christina Aguilera will be one busy mommy, as she has just given birth to her first daughter, Summer Rain, with her fiancé Matt Rutler, just last August.

She is pretty close to becoming a mainstay judge on this highly watched show such as Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. However, she had to miss three seasons of the show since she had a tour and wanted to have a baby.

It was Shakira who took her place in the fourth and sixth season, while the former No Doubt front woman took that seat this season.

Just like Stefani, Pharrell Williams is also a first-time judge on this show. Although he did assist Usher in coaching the candidates in a previous season, this is the first time that he actually has a chair of his own. Moreover, the "Happy" singer has also officially signed on to return to the show's eighth season, which somehow breaks the usual rotation of coaches every other season.

For "The Voice" season eight, even if Aguilera and Williams are no longer newbies on the seat, it will be the first time for the two of them to work together on the show, and against each other as coaches.

TIME has reported that Christina Aguilera's return to the show does not make so much sense. She has been better known for her relatively baroque costumes through the years, than being a "likable" personality. She would only pout as her co-judges tossed jokes over her head. Many were quick to assume that the "Beautiful" singer has failed to what the stunning Jennifer Lopez was able to do on "American Idol," which was to seem approachable.
