Christy Mack, who was reportedly brutally beaten by her ex-boyfriend Jonathan Koppenhaver, also known as War Machine, is ready to face him in court.
However, War Machine might not be ready just yet.
The MMA fighter's defense lawyer, Brandon Sua, has reportedly asked Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melanie Tobiasson for more time to put together "a plea deal to resolve the case without further litigation and pretrial proceedings," according to WebProNews.
War Machine's attorneys are reportedly claiming that some of the charges he is up against now are not even related to the assault of Christy Mack and her friend Cory Thomas, but are from 15 months prior.
Although Tobiasson postponed today's hearing for another month, the prosecution was reportedly wary of the postponement.
"Both victims in this case want to get this process along," stated Chief Deputy District Attorney Jacqueline Bluth.
War Machine reportedly faces over thirty years in prison if the charges, including attempted murder, sexual assault, battery, coercion, preventing or dissuading a witness or victim from reporting a crime and first-degree kidnapping resulting in substantial bodily harm, results in a conviction.
In the midst of the long list of charges he faces, War Machine reportedly attempted to commit suicide in his Las Vegas jail cell this week, according to TMZ.
An officer reportedly went into War Machine's cell and found a linen around his neck which was tied to the leg of the bed. War Machine's face was purple and once the linen was removed, his breathing reportedly became less strained.
He is reportedly currently in a medical isolation cell on suicide watch.
