Android Lollipop release date is fast coming up!

Tech News World reported that on Wednesday, October 15, Google introduced Android 5.0 Lollipop. Lollipop formally took the place of "Android L" name that has been known in the consumer market for quite some time.

The upcoming Android Lollipop release date had Sundar Pichai, a Google senior vice president wrote in a blog:

"Lollipop is our largest, most ambitious release on Android, with over 5,000 new APIs for developers."

"Lollipop is designed to be flexible, to work on all your devices and to be customized for you the way you see fit."

Android Lollipop will be accessible from Nexus 6 phone, the Nexus 9 tablet and the Nexus Player Android TV streaming media player, as reported by Tech News World.

Pre-orders for the Android Lollipop will be available to consumers by late October. Android Lollipop release date is schedule for November this year.

According to Sundar Pichai, Android Lollipop will be accessible from Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play in a few weeks time.

Google commemorated the release of the new Android version by showcasing a Lollipop statue in Google's head office at Mountain View, California.

Pichai commended the benefits that the Android Lollipop brings:

"Now content responds to your touch, or even your voice, in more intuitive ways, and transitions between tasks are more fluid."
