No official words yet from Marvel if "Doctor Strange" movie will hit the big screen, but there are already rumors that Keanu Reeves and Colin Farrell are being eyed to play the superhero role.
Rumor that Reeves and Farrell may be asked to portray the lead role has started when Joaquin Phoenix was reportedly dropped out negotiation for the role. He said as published at TheWrap and confirmed by his publicist, "Dead, dead, dead. A couple of weeks ago they mutually decided to part ways. It was over before the New York Film Festival."
Colin Farrell, who previously played as Bullseye in Marvel's "Daredevil", is also one of the leading candidates for the role of Doctor Strange. The production of the film might be set early next year to make it to the target 2016 release date, and Farrell would be then finished taping for HBO's "True Detective" Season 2.
Benedict Cumberbatch is also considered for the role; however, his schedule might not fit as he has to shoot the next season of "Sherlock".
Actors Ewan McGregor, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Ethan Hawke are also in the list. Oscar Isaac, Jared Leto, and Justin Theroux like the role.
It was reported that the film will be penned by Scott Derrickson and will be working with producer Kevin Feige.
