Another 'American Idol' alum, Joanne Borgella, passed away last weekend.
According to CNN, Borgella's family announced that the 32-year-old reality show star lost a battle against cancer on Saturday through the singer's Facebook.
"To God be the glory!" Borgella's Facebook status reads. "With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Joanne.
It continued, "On Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 5:45AM, Joanne Borgella Ramirez was called by the Lord to heaven."
Despite the somber message, the plus-sized model's family was still grateful for the life that 'American Idol' finalist Joanne Borgellla had.
"At an early age, Joanne made a choice to serve and trust the Lord; and since her diagnosis over a year ago, Joanne made a choice to also be a fighter and share her journey with the world," the status further states.
It further says, "Her faith, courage and strength were unshaken throughout every obstacle she encountered. Although our family is suffering with this great loss, we find comfort in the closeness Joanne shared with the Lord."
In a hopeful note, the family says, "We know her spirit still shines and will continue to live on in heaven."
The survival show veteran had been battling with endometrial cancer for a year.
NUVOtv also sent a message of condolence to Borgella's family.
."All of us at NUVOtv are deeply saddened at the news of Joanne Borgella's passing. We are thankful to have known such a courageous woman with a beautiful voice who brought passion, faith and heart to everything she did. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this very difficult time," Diane Castro, NUVOtv spokeswoman, said.
Borgella was a contestant on the long running singing competition's seventh season.
She later joined 'Mo'Nique's Fat Chance' where she showed off her curves in the plus size modelling contest and also appeared on NUVOtv's 'Curvy Girls.'
She modelled for Ashley Stewart, Macy's and Nordstrom and later on started her own jewelry brand and plus size clothing line.
Another contestant from season 7, Michael Johns, also passed away earlier this year.
