Quicksilver in "X-Men:Apocalypse" is a done deal, as Bryan Singer kicks off blueprints for the next installment.
The success of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" restores Bryn Singer's credibility as director for the movie franchise. The film also introduced characters fans would like to see again in the follow-up, hence Quicksilver in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
It's been confirmed Quicksilver makes a comeback in the next X-Men movie, considered a breakout character in "Days of Future Past." Details are scarce on the news, but second unit director Brian Smrz confides that a "fun" scene is is planned for "X-Men: Apocalypse," which releases to theaters May 27, 2016.
Smrz comments in an interview: "They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff. 'll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it'll be full-time... There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I'm looking forward to. That'll be fun."
Smrz is tied to the Quicksilver character in "Days of Future Past," being directly involved in an eye-candied slow-motion action scene.
"Yes, probably that (was the scene I'm most proud of) as well as some of the stuff in the opening of the film, which was kind of interesting. It was very complicated because of the Blink character and her portals
He confirms talks on the character's future in the Marvel film franchise is ongoing, even the possibility of having a standalone, solo film.
"We talked about Quicksilver before. I'd love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character." With all things considered, Quicksilver in "X-men: Apocalypse is a sure deal (comingsoon.net).
