Google Nexus 6 Motorola Release Date: Google's latest smartphone running on Android 5.0 Lollipop software will start to roll out in the coming weeks. According to Know Your Mobile, Google's Nexus device has officially been announced and will be up for pre-order from the end of October.

Reportedly, the rumors are true that the Nexus 6 was indeed developed with Motorola. As per Google's promotional material it looks a lot like a large Moto X 2014 edition. Motorola has released a statement about its involvement in the phone's production after the Nexus 6 announcement:

"At Motorola we've been big believers in Android since the very beginning. We love its power, its flexibility, and how it gives you the freedom to choose the experience that's right for you. In fact, the only thing that would be better than Android is...more Android. That's why we're so excited to have been able to work with Google's Android team to bring you the new Nexus 6, featuring Android 5.0 Lollipop."

According to the tech website, Google describes it as having a "contoured aluminium frame" and a "6-inch Quad HD display", with a 13MP camera (with f/2.0 aperture), and audio comes from dual front-facing stereo speakers. Google also teased the "Turbo Charger" Qi charging stand which can allegedly give you six hours of juice after a 15 minute top-up - the battery is a 3,220mAh setup.

Google's information page noted that the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz with an Adreno 420 GPU. The display is listed with a 5.96in size and a resolution at 2560x1440 pixels at 493 pixels-per-inch (ppi). A front-facing secondary camera is rated at 2MP and storage options for the phone include 32GB and 64GB models.

Reportedly, it is not yet confirmed by Google if the unit is water resistant.

"As for pricing details it'll cost $649 in North America for a SIM-free handset. Before tax and VAT in the UK that comes to about £410 so we can expect it to cost a little over £460 in the UK," Know Your Mobile stated.
