"The Resident Evil" TV series is currently in development!

German movie company Constantin Film announced that they will handle the "The Resident Evil" TV series. The show is in the works, however, it won't come out very soon until "Resident Evil" film installment hit the movie theaters.

Aside from "Resident Evil", Constantin Film Production will also produce TV series projects such as "Perume" and "Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." Previously, the next movie installment for "Mortal Instruments" after "City of Ashes" was announced in the works for the big screen. However, the plans have changed for "The Mortal Instruments" as it is now going to be rebooted for TV.

The one who dropped the bomb about the future TV shows during Cannes was film producer, Martin Moszkowicz. Based on Variety News, the film producer stated,

"We are increasing our TV activities substantially both in Germany and internationally. Fiction series would be the focus of the growth."

According to Franchise Herald, there are no details given yet on whether or not the "Resident Evil" TV series will follow the plot, and storyline of the original.

Variety also added to their updated report regarding Constantin Film's TV projects:

"Constantin has a lot of feature film brands and we are moving them into television. For instance, we own the rights to the book series 'The Mortal Instruments,' and we just hired a showrunner in Los Angeles, and our offices in Los Angeles and Canada are starting production next year on at least two or three international shows."
