Sherri Shepherd Latest News: Former "The View" co-host was rumored to be dating "New Edition" frontman Johnny Gill last month. In a video posted in madameniore.com, the "My, My, My" singer says Sherri is "like a homie" for him. Could it be that the two are more than friends?

According to Daily Mail, the duo met on June 25 when Gill performed with his band on The View. reportedly, Shepherd's friend said that they've been seeing each other ever since.

"Sherri is a big New Edition fan and was excited to have them at the show. But she and Johnny really connected and exchanged personal contact information," a source at the show reveals to MailOnline.

Allegedly, the two began their communication long distance, using FaceTime on their iPhones. Rumor suggests that Johnny flew Sherri out to see him in the New Edition "All Six" tour.

"She flew out to see him in Houston, Virginia Beach and Los Angeles. She enjoyed being out on the road and enjoyed getting to know him," the source said.

According to MailOnline, after their alleged date night in Houston, Johnny tweeted: "you're the best, I had so much fun hanging with you, love love love you!!!"

"Sometimes you need friends who make you laugh," Sherri modestly responded. "Thank you for a crazy night!"

Johnny reportedly flew into New York City to be with Sherri when had her last episode of The View taped on July 31.

"Johnny stayed off camera because they want to keep the fact that they're dating low key. But he was there to celebrate her farewell from the show and she was happy he was with her," the source described.

Rumor suggests Sherri has told friends she intends to take things slow enjoying companionship without rushing into anything.

Notably, Johnny says in the video that he loves to laugh and Sherri is one person who can find humor in every situation adding he and Sherri are friends.
