Sony Xperia Z2 vs iPhone 5s: Both premium smartphones, which one should you get?

Water Resistance

Z2 obtained two ratings because it is compliant to both waterproofing standards - IP55 and IP58. IP 55, as far as the water resistance is concerned, says that the unit is "protected from low pressure water jets from any direction". IP58, on the other hand, indicates that Sony Xperia Z2 is "protected from long term immersion up to a specified pressure".

Sadly, iPhone 5s is not waterproofed.

Expandable Storage

Xperia Z2 enables users to increase storage space to a maximum of 128GB by using microSD. iPhone 5s does not allow expandable storage. However, Apple offers two options for internal storage size: 16GB and 32GB. But of course, for someone who's used to downloading movies and music, Z2 is a better choice.

Display

Sony Xperia Z2 vs iPhone 5s: Z2 comes with bigger screen size at 5.2 inches as against 5s's 4.0 inches. It is also in full HD resolution - 1080 x 1920 pixels - at 424 ppi. The iPhone brand only features 640 x 1136 pixels resolution at 326 ppi.

There's no doubt that the Xperia Z2 camera stands out than iPhone 5s as it packs 20.7 megapixels as opposed to 5s's 8 megapixels.

System Chip and Processor

Z2 takes pride in its system chip - Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AB. Meanwhile, iPhone 5s has Apple A7. In terms of processor, again, Z2 is the winner as it is faster with quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400. The Apple smartphone features Dual core, 1300 MHz, 64-bit.

Sony Xperia Z2 vs iPhone 5s: If you are looking for value to your money, it should not be surprising if you will choose Z2 over 5s. With its more powerful camera, bigger storage potential, water resistance, bigger screen, and others, Z2 is a better buy.
