Cable channel tvN's daily drama 'Yellow Boots' confirmed its extension of eight episodes; a first for a cable channel drama.
According to a tvN press release on the 23rd, "'Yellow Boots' has confirmed its eight episode extension." 'Yellow Boots,' which aired its first episode on February 27th, was originally planned to end on August 16th with 100 episodes. However, due to the eight episode extension, the drama will end on August 30th with 108 episodes.
'Yellow Boots' has seen a constant rise in its viewer rating due to the passionate acting by Lee Yuri and other main actors as well as the strong lineup of distinguished mid-aged actors. Not even one month into the drama's airing, a 1% viewer rating was reached, indicating a big hit.
In the 84th episode aired on the 19th, the drama recorded its highest viewer rating of 5% according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, marking one of the highest viewer ratings among 2012 cable dramas.
Lee Chan Ho PD of 'Yellow Boots' stated, "We decided on the drama's extension because of the audience's warm support. We're anticipating a more dramatic story through the confirmation of the eight episode extension."
