One of the teenagers wounded from the Washington Highschool shootout was announced dead last Sunday night.
As per Yahoo News, the officials at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett confirmed the death of 14-year-old Gia Soriano. She was killed during the shooting last Friday that happened in the cafeteria of the Washington Highschool.
Meanwhile, the shooter, a freshman at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, North of Seattle named Jaylen Fryberg also died of a self-inflicted wound.
The remaining three students are still in the hospital with two of them in critical condition and the other one is in serious condition.
During a news conference, Dr. Joanne Roberts read a statement from Gia's family.
"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter, and words cannot express how much we will miss her."
Dr. Roberts also mentioned that Gia's family was donating her organs for transplant.
Last Sunday morning, the victim's parents and students gathered in a gymnasium at the school for a community meeting. Speakers urged support and prayers and tribal members played drums and sang songs. The shooter, Fryberg, was from a prominent Tulalip, Native American tribes family.
On that Sunday gathering, students hugged each other and cried.
Deborah Parker, a member of Tulalip native American tribes said
"We just have to reach for that human spirit right now."
Meanwhile, the other 14-years-old wounded student Nate Hatch showed improvement, even though he remains in serious condition in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Same with 15-year-old Andrew Fryberg. He is still in critical condition in intensive care. The two students are cousins of Jaylen Fryberg.
Unfortunately, the 14-year-old Shaylee Chuckulnaskit remained in critical condition in intensive care at Providence Regional Medical Center.
The girl that was confirmed killed in the shooting last Friday hasn't been officially identified.
