"Horror movie "Annabelle" crossed the $150 million mark at the global box office this weekend."
"'The Conjuring' spinoff has some of the year's widest profit margins. It required a mere $6.7 million to produce, plus undisclosed marketing and distribution costs. Along with "The Lego Movie," which made $468 million globally on a $60 million budget, it ranks as one of the most profitable films of the year for Warner Bros."
Since the movie is a spin-off of another horror blockbuster, moviegoers are comparing "Annabelle" 2014 full movie with "The Conjuring." But which gives more screams? Amy Surprenant of Moviepilot gives it to the 2014 goosebumps inducing flick.
"I'll say that Annabelle is much much better than The Conjuring. I'm not one for jump scares, but this film does it right. Jarring you one moment then building up the next, so you never know when it's coming. The visuals are insanely stunning, and I was very unnerved at most of the demon's appearances. Select key scenes with manifestations of the daughter Annabelle are also extremely well done. I very much recommend this film to anyone who enjoys movies in the vein of The Exorcist or Insidious."
"Go and see! You won't be disappointed."

For the curious, here is a short description of the film from Wikipedia:
"The film starts with the same opening scene from The Conjuring, in 1968, in which two young women and a young man are telling Ed and Lorraine Warren about their experiences with a doll called Annabelle they believe to be haunted."
"In 1967, John and Mia Form are expecting their first child. John gives her a doll that she has been trying to find. Mia loves it and puts it with the rest of her doll collection, saying that she 'its right in.'"
