Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage appears to still be a work in progress. According to a report from Daily Mail, the former "Beverly Hills 90210" star is sick and trying to recover in a hospital, while her husband was spotted leaving a sex shop in California.

Wearing a blue and grey shirt and jeans, the 47-year-old husband of Tori Spelling reportedly "spent around 10 minutes browsing items" inside the sex shop in Encino, California earlier this week.

The controversial actor was photographed stepping out of the establishment carrying a bag full of purchases, said Daily Mail.

The sighting took place while Tori Spelling was in the hospital due to bronchitis, sinusitis and pneumonia.

The 41-year-old actress posted a cryptic Instagram message while in the hospital, which seemed to be addressed to husband Dean McDermott.

The former teen star's photo in her hospital bed was captioned: "This sick in hospital I finally see how quickly life can take it all away frm you. We all need 2 step up frm inside& go 4 it! W/our friends by our side."

"Sadly I've finally faced truth that 1 person will never be there 4 me #TrueTori," Tori Spelling added.

Given the much publicized problems encountered by Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage, the caption has led people to speculate that she was referring to her husband not being there for her.

Aside from Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott marriage problems, a report from Radar Online revealed that the controversial couple is also "cash-strapped".

In spite of gathering only mediocre ratings, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's reality show will still continue after the former "Beverly Hills 90210" star reportedly accepted the network's "discounted" fee.

Parents to four young children, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott agreed to their reality show's paycut to keep the series on air. According to Radar Online, the show's second season was confirmed after the former teen actress admitted she was "broke".

An insider told Radar Online: "Lifetime was interested in doing another season of the show. However, Tori had to be willing to take a pay cut, a big one, and she did."

In addition to slashing the talent fees for Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's reality show, the latter is reportedly "not even getting a penny".

A source revealed that "Tori is making only $50,000 to do Season Two, (and) Dean isn't making a dime. Tori made sure his contract specified that."

The insider explained to Radar Online Tori Spelling's alleged intentions: "Her friends think she would have done the reality show for free, she is that obsessed with having her personal life played out on camera!"

The source added: "She needs constant validation from Dean and everyone around her."
