New posters are out from the latest movie of Gladiator Ridley Scott starring Christian Bale. Exodus Gods and Kings is turning out to be this year's biblical epic movie event, with these fantastic looks at the film based on the Exodus chapter in Scripture.

And though Exodus Gods and Kings will surely feature epic battle scenes, sweeping scale in its set design and production, as can be expected from a Ridley Scott movie, it has at its heart, the clash between two men who were raised as brothers. Christian Bale plays Moses who will rise in defiance against Ramses (Joel Edgerton), as the latter seeks to bring his people, the Israelites out of slavery from Egypt. Aside from the exciting battle scenes, expect the plagues that God calls upon Egypt to play out in all its devastation.

Aside from Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton, the movie boasts of a stellar cast. Included in Exodus Gods and Kings are the likes of Iron Man's Ben Kingsley, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, and Aliens' Sigourney Weaver. They are joined by Indira Varma and John Turturro

Of course, any take on any biblical tale will come with it issues of authenticity and controversy. And the same has been true with Exodus Gods and Kings. First, the director and the team were taken to task because of the lack of diversity in its choice of actors. Now, lead actor himself, Christian Bale has come under fire for describing his character, Moses, a revered figure in the Old Testament, as having mental problems.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 40 year old Dark Knight actor revealed, "I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I have ever read about in my life." How this will translate in how he portrays Moses in Exodus Gods and Kings is yet to be seen. We'll just have to wait for December 26, when this biblical epic will hit cinemas.
