For those who were not able to catch episode 5, "The Key," here is a quick recap from Hypable:
"We begin during a late evening in the Oval Office where Fitz is asking for another update on Jake from Cyrus. The Chief of Staff has nothing to offer because Jake is refusing to give a confession.
Olivia isn’t able to get an update on Jake either. (Remember: She doesn’t know what’s happened to Jake at this point.) Her latest call to her boyfriend goes unanswered when Rowan makes a surprise visit to her apartment so they can unwind with a bottle of wine. In their conversation, Rowan acts like he didn’t dramatically accuse Jake of killing Jerry Jr. at the end of last week’s episode. In fact, his kindness towards Olivia in this moment is gross when you consider how he’s blatantly lying.
'What if I’m supposed to be saving him right now instead of drinking wine with you?' Olivia asks. Her intuition is always right! Too bad she didn’t act on it in this moment.
We jump to Jake in the interrogation room, where he’s been for 20 hours. He’s refusing to drink or eat and wishes to speak to the president. He’s confident that Fitz will show up on his own, and when that happens, he’ll be able to explain himself. Oh.. if only it was going to be that easy."
