The brand new Terminator movie is fast becoming one of the most highly anticipated reincarnations of iconic films in the past. Actor Jai Courtney (Insurgent), has called the brand new movies a "reset" rather than a "reboot" because of the way the Terminator Genesis plot reinvents the whole franchise. In fact, in the very latest cover story on the movie, we learn of a particularly juicy spoiler.
Entertainment Weekly very recently did two cover versions of the new movie Terminator Genysis. In one, we see Matt Smith (Doctor Who), and Jason Clarke (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes), and on the other we see Emilia Clarke (Game Of Thrones), who plays Sarah Connor in the movie, riding a motorcycle with Jai Courtney. In the accompanying story to the article, it is revealed that Sarah Connor isn't who everyone thinks she is.
According to the Entertainment Weekly article, "Sarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator-an older T-800 she calls "Pops"-who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion." How's that for a Terminator Genesis plot spoiler?
Producer David Ellison adds, "Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen. But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, 'That's not what I want to do.' It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction."
This new Terminator Genesis plot is being directed by Alan Taylor (Thor) and produced by Ellison and Dana Goldberg. It is set to be released in July 2015, and fans of the original franchise will be happy to know that the original Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in these new films.
