Police in Central Alabama got the help of a man's own dog in a recent drug bust.
Prattville Police spokeswoman Paula Barlow reportedly stated that the dog, Bo, followed his owner who was fleeing from the police. When the dog stopped and wagged his tail in the tall grass, officers were able to follow through with the drug bust and arrest Edwin Henderson, according to the Associated Press.
Barlow reportedly stated that the chase began when two drug officers arrived on Wednesday with a search warrant and Henderson took off running.
One of the investigators reportedly pointed at Henderson and told the dog "go get him," which sent Bo off to find his owner.
Henderson has reportedly been charged with failure to obey police, manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The story has brought on jokes from the public.
"Man's best friend; man's lousiest accomplice," wrote social media user Estevan.
deckhands daughter commented, "This is clearly a case of dog intervention. Bo was concerned about Henderson's drug use and wanted to get him into rehab."
There is no word on who will be taking care of Bo now that his owner has been arrested, according to the UK publication Metro. It's also reportedly unclear if Henderson has an attorney.
