Which smartphone is worth the purchase? We pit the Micromax Unite 2 against Motorola Moto E to see which device is better.

In terms of design and display, the Motorola Moto E has a smaller display measuring 4.3 inches, and it’s an LCD which supports an average resolution of 540x960pixels, and the pixel density of 256ppi. Moreover, the screen is protected against scratches with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 3, so users will not worry about the safety of their device in case they'll drop it by accident. As for the Micromax Unite 2, it has a 4.7 inches IPS screen which is capable of supporting a modest resolution of 480x800pixels, and a pixel density of 199ppi.

The Motorola Moto E is shorter than its opponent, measuring 124.8×64.8×12.3 mm and it weighs 140 grams, being 18 grams lighter than the Micromax Unite 2, which measures 138.9×71.9×9.4 mm.

For the hardware and OS, the Motorola Moto E has a dual core Cortex A7 clocked at 1.2GH, while the Micromax Unite 2 has a quad core Cortex A7 with the clock speed set at 1.3GHz. The Motorola device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset and uses an old Adreno 302 GPU, while the Micromax unit comes with a Mediatek MT6582 chipset, coupled with a Mali-400MP2 GPU. Both smartphones have accelerometer and proximity sensors and they run on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), but the Moto E allows users to upgrade it to v4.4.3 (KitKat).

Both smartphones have 1GB of RAM and an internal memory with the capacity of 4GB, and can be expanded up to 32GB.

For battery and camera specs, the Motorola Moto E comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 1980mAh battery, while the Micromax Unite 2 has a bigger battery, which is Li-Ion 2000mAh.

Both smartphones have 5MP rear cameras, but the Moto E lacks autofocus and LED flash, but besides geo tagging, it has in addition HDR and panorama. The bad news is that it doesn’t have a secondary camera like the Unite 2 (2MP, so video calls are not possible.

The Motorola Moto E costs $130 and the Micromax Unite 2 costs only $111.
