Queen Latifah's talk show, "The Queen Latifah Show," has recently refuted a report that they cancelled an interview with famous comedian Bill Cosby. When there was a sudden change up with the guests for the show, rumors started to surface that Cosby's segment was cancelled because of his alleged history.
A spokesperson for the show told TheWrap, "Mr. Cosby's scheduled appearance on 'The Queen Latifah Show' was postponed at his request and was in no way related to any of our recent or upcoming scheduled guests."
It was TMZ who reported on Thursday that the show opted to cancel Cosby's appearance on the show after his history of being accused of raping and sexually molesting 13 women was brought up by Hannibal Buress during a stand-up comedy stint just last week.
"Bill Cosby has the f*cking smuggest old black man public persona that I hate," Buress said a week ago. "'Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the 80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple notches. I don't curse on stage. But, yeah, you're a rapist."
Buress was referring to a case back in 2006. The case involved Andrea Constand, a former employee at Temple University, who claimed that Bill Cosby drugged her and then sexually assaulted her in his mansion in Philadelphia back in 2004.
The lawyers hired by Constand found 13 other witnesses who have similar claims regarding Cosby. They were also allegedly drugged and raped by the famous comedy TV icon. However, the statute of limitations on all of the charges had already expired.
Billy Cosby then ended up settling with Constand under terms that have not been disclosed to the press.
Despite all of these claims and accusations, as evidenced by Buress's stand-up comedy stint, Bill Cosby has never been charged for sexual assault. To date, representatives for Cosby have not yet given any comments on the matter at hand.
