As the fight between Many Pacquiao and Chris Algieri approaches, PacMan is expected to go down in the junior welterweight division right after his 12th round battle in Macau, China on the 22nd of November. During an interview with Freddie Roach, the coach confirmed that his famous and prized fighter is planning to go down at 140 lbs.
For the meantime, because of the Roach's confirmation, Mexico based boxing company, Zanfer Promotions, founded by Fernando Beltran is now thinking of the possibility for another Juan Manuel Marquez fight versus PacMan, who is still not decided about his future plans. The producer believes that "Dinamita" will benefit with PacMan's decision to step down to the welterweight division.
Zanfer promotions revealed, "We are analyzing whether Pacquiao will go down to 140 lbs, which then opens up the possibility to Juan Manuel Marquez to go for the title at 147 lbs. and fight for a fifth championship. You guys knew that Marquez dropped Manny Pacquiao when they met in the ring for the fourth time almost two years ago. Since then, Pacquiao didn't stop; he encouraged Marquez to face him in the ring for the fifth time."
Dinamita decided not to entertain the issue, instead of accepting the challenge. However, if Zanfer promotions are targeting a 5th championship bout for Dinamita, PacMan will be the man of the hour. He is still dreaming of the fight with Floyd to happen. Manny disclosed that he still wants to be with the same ring of the Money Man. He said, "Hopefully that fight will happen by next year," he said. "I'm crossing my fingers that that fight will happen but right now my mind is already set to focus on my next fight with Algieri. I think the time to talk about that issue is after the fight."
