Andy Murray has secured his spot at the ATP World Tour Finals after he won over Grigor Dimitrov at the Paris Masters.
After having lost back to back Wimbledon sets, he has finally beat the Bulgarian on a 6-3 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals.
According to BBC tennis correspondent Russell Fuller "Andy Murray has played with purpose, and increasing conviction, in his six week Eurasian tour. The maths were very much against him when he left New York, but in a season of many frustrations, this is a notable achievement."
Adding "Murray's other goal was to improve his ranking, and with Stan Wawrinka losing in Paris earlier in the day, his chances of ending the year in the world's top four are increasing by the day."
Murray is contented with his health right after his performances at Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Vienna, Valencia and now Paris in consecutive weeks.
He said "It's been such a long few weeks but I still feel pretty good when I get up in the mornings. It's not like I'm as fresh as a daisy. I'm fatigued - but I'm match tight. I'm making good decisions on the court, I'm not having any lulls in the matches."
"It wasn't the easiest position to be in but I had to do it if I wanted to try to finish in the top eight. Thankfully I've managed to do it, and my body has held up."
Good thing that his sit is already sealed at the World Tour Finals as he has lost his next match against Novak Djokovic for the semi-finals of the Paris Masters.
Djokovic sealed the win on a straight set 7-5, 6-2 with a time of one hour and 41 minutes.
According to Djokovic, he was looking forward to a great match against Murray.
He said "We know what to expect - the matches will be very long, they will be physical with long rallies and long exchanges and whoever is calmer at the important moments comes up with one or two good shots at the right time can prevail and that's what happened."
Adding "The first set was very close and had some break opportnities and held my service games pretty good and then I made a crucial break at the end of the first. He was a break up in the second but then some double faults allowed me to come back and get back to the second set and after that I just started swinging through it much better."
