She's already shown that she can do pull of indie films (Laggies), be comfortable in her own skin in period pieces (Pride And Prejudice), carry big blockbuster movies (Pirates Of the Carribean) and she can even sing, as she has proven in the charming little movie Begin Again. It does seem that Keira Knightley movies run the entire range of major genres in Hollywood.

But now the 29 year old actress reveals her true feelings about the kinds of roles that are being offered to girls and women in Hollywood these days. These may not necessarily reflect the kind of roles Keira Knightley does in her own movies, but the actress is concerned about women's images that are being reflected in these.

In the most recent issue of The Edit from Net a Porter, The Imitation Game star talked about what she thinks about Hollywood roles for women. "The people who make movies, whether it's directors or producers, or money people, look for things that they can identify with and if they're all predominantly middle-aged white men, then what you see are things that middle-aged white men can identify with. And you don't get anything for anybod," Keira shares.

The actress also reveals that she keeps having to say no to roles because of the sexually explicit content that these have. If you take a look at a sampling of Keira Knightley's movies, none of them are overtly sexual. "I've turned a lot [of roles] down because of it, mostly because of really overt sex and violence that is just, in my view, not justified," she shares. "I'm not saying that there can't be really interesting stories about sex and violence, but a lot of it I just think, 'This is gratuitous for the sake of being gratuitous, and you'd never ask a dude to do this.'"
