Robert Downey Jr has of course been getting much buzz lately for his hugely popular role as Tony Stark or Iron Man in both the Iron Man and Avengers franchises. But the actor is also making headlines for his personal life, as the due date of Robert Downey Jr's baby girl's birth draws nearer and nearer.
The most recent public appearance of the 49 year old actor was at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards, which was held in Beverly Hills. The actor was set to receive an award recognizing his work in movies -- the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in film. The actor attended with his wife, film producer Susan, who is due to give birth to Robert Downey Jr. baby girl real soon. His first daughter, as it happens, as the pair have a two year old son named Exton, and Downey has another son named Indio from his previous marriage.
During his acceptance speech, Downey made a reference to the upcoming birth of his baby girl, and asked his wife, "who is literally about to pop" to stand up. "How is she still so darn pretty, and functional and mood stable," Downey said.
The actor then went on to share that the upcoming Robert Downey Jr. baby girl birth has actually been harder on him than on his wife, "The second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in," Downey joked.
"Mrs. Downey, any day now when you're in the throes of birthing, if you need to yell at me or scratch me, scratch my face or blind me, it's fine," he told her. "Because, yes, I did that to you."
Susan and Robert Downey Jr's baby girl is expected to be born this November. Stay tuned for more news on this!
