Wanderlei Silva news reveals "The Axe Murderer" accusing UFC president Dana White of slavery. The 38-year old mixed martial arts veteran has also accepted a fight against rival Chael Sonnen in Brazil.
Silva and White have not had a smooth-sailing relationship as of late. Since the imposing of his lifetime ban by the Nevada Athletic Commission due drug-testing issues, "The Axe Murderer" openly-criticized the UFC executive, and the entire organization, as well.
"The main reason is how MMA has been managed, the disrespect with the athletes. It's becoming a freak show," Silva said in a September report by Combate. "The promotions turn one fighter against another and don't want to pay anything. If a guy refuses to fight, an executive makes a statement and tries to show himself as a more important person. It's shameful."
Wanderlei Silva news also reveals that while Dana White did offer a response soon after, it still was not enough to pacify the frustrated and seemingly fed-up Brazilian fighter.
"The Axe Murderer" recently aired out his frustrations through a tweet, which he wrote in Portuguese, but was translated by fellow Brazilian fighter Guilherme Cruz.
"Wanderlei Silva just tweeted this: 'Slavery now? So I can't work, Dana? You're not the boss of me, I can fight wherever I want,'" Cruz wrote.
Wanderlei Silva news also reveals that while there had been no formal announcement of the rescindment "The Axe Murderer's" UFC contract, he is still barred from competing in professional mixed martial arts in the US.
But most recently, Brazilian promotion company XFC announced their openness to have Silva fight for their company.
"Are you ready to do this? Let's do this," XFC president Myron Molotky asked Silva
(in a report by MMA Fighting).
"The Axe Murderer" offered a reply, which did not come as a surprise to many of his fans.
"If (Sonnen) accepts the fight, why not?" Silva said in turn. "I'd do it. Why not? I'm here. Come get it."
