Fans will surely get excited once they find out the latest "Iron Man 4" update. During the BAFTA event, Robert Downey Jr. was asked how many times he will play Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. His answer gave hope to his followers and started out rumors that there may be another sequel. However, this could be the last time we will see Downey wear his armor.
The 49-year old actor told Entertainment Tonight (via Comic Book), "You know, it may verge on double digits." He later on added, "But it will probably wind up being a little shy." We have already seen Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man five times (three "Iron Man" movies, "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Avengers").
We will see him next in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron"; and Marvel recently announced that he will also be included in "Captain America 3: Civil War", "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" and "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2". To sum it all up, Robert Downey Jr. will appear as the iron-clad superhero nine times.
But when he said that he is on the verge of double digits, then there is a possibility of him starring in "Iron Man 4" and we will surely update you on that. Also present during the BAFTA event is the director of the first two "Iron Man" films, Jon Favreau.
The filmmaker was asked if there will be a fourth installment. He said, "I don't know what's going with Iron Man 4." Favreau added, "You have to talk to Robert or [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige." The director also shared to Access Hollywood his experience when the "Iron Man" trailer was leaked online.
Jon Favreau said, "I remember back during Iron Man, footage snuck out from [San Diego] Comic-Con. I think what it shows is that there is tremendous enthusiasm for it, and fortunately it was ready to go out officially."
He added, "You know, things don't always happen the way you want them to in the information age, but I really love the reaction that the trailer got and I think it's wonderful." What will be more wonderful is if Jon Favreau will direct "Iron Man 4" and Robert Downey Jr. will star in it.
A few months ago, the 48-year old director expressed how much he wanted to see the 49-year old actor reprise his role. Movie Pilot reported Jon Favreau saying, "I think people would love to see Robert Downey [Jr] continue the Iron Man character, but, y'know, he's done it quite a bit now - I've had a few movies off, so it's a lot easier for me to say that it should be done, but, y'know, i hope he continues doing it, and as long as he fits in that suit, there's no reason he shouldn't."
What do you think of the latest "Iron Man 4" update? Do you think we will see Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau teaming up again?
