Netflix knows how to keep its viewers happy.

The video-streaming site has reportedly acquired the rights to produce a brand-new original series based on Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books, according to E! News.

"On the search for fantastic material that appeals to both parents and kids, the first stop for generations of readers is 'A Series of Unfortunate Events,'" Netflix's vice president of original content Cindy Holland said in a statement to Variety.

The statement continued, "The world created by Lemony Snicket is unique, darkly funny, and relatable. We can't wait to bring it to life for Netflix members."

News of the upcoming project has even gotten the very private author to speak out on how excited he is about it.

"I can't believe it," Snicket stated from an "undisclosed location," according to KITV.

He added, "After years of providing top-quality entertainment on demand, Netflix is risking its reputation and its success by associating itself with my dismaying and upsetting books."

The television adaptation of the series will reportedly combine the ideas of Netflix and Paramount Television. Paramount was reportedly the studio responsible for the movie adaptation of the books back in 2004.

Social media users have already taken to Twitter to share the news with other "A Series of Unfortunate Events" fans.

"Nobody has any idea how excited I am for the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events" Netflix series," wrote Twitter user chase.

Fellow social media user Baileigh Garvin commented, "They're making a Netflix series based off of the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events" books, and I'm embarrassingly excited about it."
