The latest Universal Studios fantasy-adventure flick about battling witches and warlocks the "Seventh Son" movie has had its release date bumped, not just once but twice. However, instead of being a disadvantage, the delay could prove to be more favorable for the film.

This is what Junkee surmised when it reported about the reasons why the film's release was delayed. The "Seventh Son" movie was first scheduled to hit theaters anytime between February to October 2013. Then it was bumped to January 2014. Finally, after moving to its new home in Universal Studios, the film outfit scheduled it to February 2015.

The delays resulted from the trouble Rhythm & Hues, the studio responsible for making the special effects, encountered. Eventually, the problem extended to the home studios financing the film, and in the end, it lead to Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. parting ways. The film then found a new home in Universal Studios.

But even if most observers would think such development would be inauspicious for the film, Junkee said that it could turn out otherwise. The delay has provided enough time for the stars of the film to gain more popularity.

Among them is Kit Harrington who played the role of Jeff Bridges's apprentice. His role in "The Game of Thrones" has further familiarized the audience with his presence. Another one is Antje Traue who gave an astounding performance as Faora in "Man of Steel."

According to Variety, "Seventh Son" movie was originally entitled "The Spook's Apprentice." It is the big screen adaptation of Joseph Delaney's popular young adult book series.

The film, which follows the story of the seventh son of the seventh son's journey towards learning about wizardry, stars Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Kit Harrington, Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander and Antje Traue among others. Its final release date would be on February 6, 2015, reported Junkee.
