Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for years. Aside from their successful careers in Hollywood, they also have one thing in common: loving and supportive wives.
Affleck reported said, as indicated in an article in People magazine:
"We have great wives, and we're very lucky."
Affleck is married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three kids. Meanwhile, Damon is married to Luciana Barroso, with whom he has four daughters.
Ben and Matt gave credit to their wives for inspiring them to succeed in life. And, of course, the fact that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for years is a big bonus in getting more things done while keeping each other company.
Damon fondly recalled the friendship journey he and Affleck went through:
"We've known each other for more than 30 years, and the fact that we have a company together is kind of a part of the whole thing."
"We used to have business lunches together in high school when we had no business to talk about."
Affleck pitched in, as he revealed to People that the earlier years have not always been as smooth for him and his best friend. But, the actor added though, he and Damon were able to find the positive side in those difficult moments in their lives:
"Those times were fun!"
"We had a great time! We were young, we didn't have the kinds of fears that you have when you get into your forties if you haven't gotten to where you want to go. We were in our twenties and we just had a blast!"
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for years, too, prior to winning the Oscar award for their "Best Original Screenplay" tandem in 1997's "Good Will Hunting".
