Hot on the heels of the moving character posters comes a fresh new trailer for the much awaited Disney musical! The Into The Woods trailer features much more music and more singing! This is much to the relief of fans who have been feeling shortchanged from the promotional materials (including the trailers) that have come out for the musical, which does not feature much actual glimpses into the movie's famed soundtrack.
The new Into The Woods trailer we get to hear two of the musical productions made famous by the play. One of the numbers is the Into The Woods prologue and the other one is the Meryl Streep rendition of "Stay With Me," a song that witch sings to Rapunzel.
The story of course revolves around these beloved fairy tale characters from the brothers Grimm, but the musical by Stephen Sondheim puts a irreverent twists on their traditional stories. The Into The Woods trailer gives us a glimpse of the movie's stellar cast, which includes Meryl Streep as the terrifying witch, Johnny Depp as the Big Bad Wolf, James Corden's as The Baker, Emily Blunt as The Baker's Wife, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, and Chris Pine as The Prince.
The movie's theme is "Be careful what you wish for." Edge Of Tomorrow's Emily Blunt describes the movie as unlike anything that Disney is traditionally known for. "It is a very un-Disney film," the actress shared in an interview with Variety. "It is very funny, very human. I think kids will enjoy it but there are adult themes running through it."
