The Jeremy Lin news updates are up and down with regards to his play with the Los Angeles Lakers and critics have pointed out his being too passive with the ball. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant continues to challenge "Linsanity" to become the best player he can be.
Evan Massey of Hoops Habit dished Jeremy Lin news when he said that the new Lakers point guard should be more aggressive with the ball and not worry too much about Kobe Bryant.
He said that one of the problems with Jeremy Lin this season is that he's not being aggressive just like the brief period of "Linsanity," during the 15-day stretch with the New York Knicks when he averaged 25 points and nine assists.
However, it could be argued that he was the central focus of Mike D'Antoni's offense at that time since Carmelo Anthony was injured, unlike with the Lakers where his role is to facilitate and direct the offense.
"Lin has averaged 10.8 points, 5.0 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game so far this season, and those numbers simply aren't going to cut it," he wrote. "He's shooting 37.8 percent from the floor overall and 33.3 percent from behind the arc."
In other Jeremy Lin news from Bleacher Report, writer Kevin Ding said that the heady point guard has the chance to redeem himself under the tutelage of Kobe Bryant after his confidence was shot when he lost his starting spot to Patrick Beverly.
"Bryant has chosen Lin to challenge, and in a way it's an honor. In another way, it's just the sort of heavy-handed demands that some players don't want and can't handle if they don't have enough self-respect inside," he wrote.
"Bryant is crusading for Lin, like Bryant's all-time-fave teammate Derek Fisher would, to be confident enough in himself and his decisions not to defer. Bryant has also said Lin can be a great defensive player," Kevin Ding added.
