Leaked Far Cry 4 Map Massive, Reveals New Wildlife; Game Teases Open World A Week Before Release Date? Ubisoft To Confirm Game Map Larger Than Far Cry 3

The Far Cry 4 map is leaked online, a week before the game's release date.

A recent photo on IMGUR apparently leaks Far Cry 4's map of Kyrat, the fictional Himalayan region where the game is set to take place. Though Ubisoft has yet to comment on the leak, the size of the map confirms claims Far Cry 4 is massive compared to previous installments of the game.

Ubisoft is on a roll this November, with major releases in the consoles and on the PC. Assassin's Creed Unity and Rogue launch starting today on the US, and the Far Cry 4 release date is pegged for November 18.

Leaked content are rarely confirmed by developers, and the news on Far Cry 4 map builds up hype for the title, at the very least.

The map looks very legitimate, with locations marked all throughout. Towers and outposts are marked. The assortment of animals is even indicated, both on the map and on a sideboard, those in known and unknown locations.

Though the map looks massive enough on the outset, the blackened areas surrounding its entirety may still suggest unrevealed areas. Otherwise, these are boundaries for the game's open-world map.

Ubisoft claims Far Cry 4 gameplay is open world, with new weapons, vehicles, animals, to offer. The game has already gone gold, though the frame rate and resolution for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are yet to be confirmed. It's reported the Ubisoft development team is going for 1080p for the new consoles.

The Far Cry 4 release date is part of Ubisoft's holiday launches; gamers play the protagonist Ajay Ghale, out to fulfill his deceased mother's wishes on the Himalayan Kyrat, but gets caught in civil war and forced to fend for himself.

Based on the leaked Far Cry 4 map, there are at least four regions to access, though it's yet to be confirmed if all these are open for exploration at the start of the game (craveonline.com).
