Eminem had declared himself a "Rap God" by many, but he may taken that title away from himself after the release of the video of a new cypher, which was made to support the new two-disc greatest hits compilation, "Shady XV."
In the new video, the self proclaimed "Rap God" rapped about how he will "punch Lana Del Rey in the face," according to the media outlet Bustle.
The lyrics are as follows:
But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/Play nice? Bitch I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/'Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens
Yes, the reference to the act of domestic violence against Janay Rice by her husband, former NFL star Ray Rice of the Ravens is especially horrific. Eminem's decision to slam Lana Del Rey in his lyrics has yet to be explained, but the general consensus is that there is no particular reason.
The rapper has been known for publicly "dissing" other female pop stars as well, including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, according to Billboard.
Since the release of his recent lyrics, it's not hard to believe that Lana Del Rey, who had stated in a 2012 interview that she has great respect for Eminem, even calling him "the master of lyrics," may become a part of the very large pool of people that have grown to dislike him.
"Sad considering she is a fan of his. Plus he's a little too old to still be rapping about knocking girls out dontcha think? I don't care if its his alter ego either that is a boring excuse. Everyone always takes shots at her yet she's so sweet and harmless. I don't get it," commented social media user anon.
