The hit 2002 romantic comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" will have a sequel in the future, evident from the tweet that writer-star Nia Vardalos made several months back.

"I'm working on the MBFGWedding sequel; now that I'm experiencing motherhood I feel ready to write this next chapter," wrote Nia Vardalos on her Twitter account.

Now the details for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" is slowly being released. Fans of the original are asking if Vardalos' co-star John Corbett, who played the very charming Ian Miller, will be returning for some Greek fun.

The answer is yes! John Corbett has reportedly agreed to return for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2," in which a family secret and an even bigger wedding brings the Portokalas family together again, according to Deadline.

The script will be written by none other than Vardalos while "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" is set to be produced by Rita Wilson and Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, according to Variety. The executive producers will reportedly be Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Steven Shareshian and Vardalos.

The film will reportedly be directed by Kirk Jones, who has previously directed "Waking Ned Devine," "Everybody's Fine" and "What to Expect When You're Expecting," according to Cinemablend.

Aside from the U.S., Universal will reportedly distribute in Australia/New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Latin America, Scandinavia, South Africa and Spain.

The bar has already been set so high due to the popularity of the first movie that fans are already waiting in anticipation for the film.

"Honestly if My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 doesn't meet all my fan theories I'm gonna cry. It better meet expectations," wrote Twitter user veronica sawyer.
