Where do you go from playing a high school teacher turned meth dealer, in one of the most successful TV series of all time? Well star in a new show that combines the themes of some of the most popular television shows of this age! Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston is doing exactly this in what is reported to be a new show already in development called Sneaky Pete!
According to Deadline, Cranston is working on this new CBS show with the creator of House, David Shore. So what exactly is this show about and what can fans of Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston expect from his much awaited return to television? According to Deadline, it really will be a combination of all the wonderful shows that have been popular lately.
As per the website, "Sneaky Pete centers on a thirty-something con man who, upon leaving prison, takes cover from his darker past by assuming the identity of a cellmate. "Sneaky Pete" hides out from the mob while working for the cellmate family's bail bond business, taking down criminals worse than himself. Over time, he discovers a family life he's never had, and possibly true love with a woman who sees through his BS."
According to Vanity Fair, it will have the "mob elements of The Sopranos, the fake identity plot of Mad Men, and the criminal hunting criminals angle of Dexter."
It will be recalled that when Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston accepted his last Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama series, he mentioned in his acceptance speech that his award was dedicated to "all the Sneaky Petes in the world." Turns out, this was his family's moniker for him when he was younger because he would always try to cut corners and settle for mediocrity. Until he started acting, which was when he began to take things seriously. How fitting that his newest TV project is called "Sneaky Pete" don't you think?
