Ronda Rousey's next fight against Cat Zingano is once again being overshadowed by another major event, as "Rowdy" is being reported to appear at WrestleMania 31 in March. The reigning women's champion is also expected to be a huge draw at the said World Wrestling Entertainment event.
Ronda Rousey's next fight against "Alpha Cat" is scheduled as the co-main event bout at UFC 184 on February 28th, headlined by middleweight champion Chris Weidman, as he defends his belt against Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort. The fight was originally scheduled for UFC 182 in January, but was moved due to a shoulder injury sustained by Zingano.
While Ronda Rousey's next fight is expected to be a treat for fight fans, as always, another demographic may be enjoying "Rowdy's" charisma. According to WWE legend Jim Ross and pro-wrestling manager J.J. Dillon, the reigning UFC Women's bantamweight champion will also make an appearance at WreslteMania 31.
"I can almost bet that Ronda Rousey will be there because she's the hottest thing in MMA, and Ronda Rousey has the Four Horsewomen," Dillon said during Jim Ross' podcast entitled "Ross Report."
WrestleMania 31, which will take place on March 29th at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, is expected to draw a huge crowd of professional wrestling fans, as it had been traditionally.
For Jim Ross, what could make Rousey's appearance in the said event more special is her current status, both as a global female sports figure and entertainer.
"Yeah, she's the hottest sports entertainment personality in the world - by far in my view," Ross said. "Well, by far might be too much, but she's certainly number one in my book."
As an undefeated women's champion holding the second-fastest knockout record in the UFC, "Rowdy" has always been able to create a loud buzz, both among fans and haters.
This has led Dillon to believe that she will be able to rile up the crowd in attendance for that WrestleMania night.
"So, I'm thinking, 'Wow!' That would be a natural thing that the Four Horsewomen will be somehow rubbing elbows with the Four Horsemen," Dillon said. "And then "Rowdy" Roddy Piper would have to be there because that's where "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey picked up the "Rowdy" from. But then again, what do I know?"
