The latest Cleveland Cavaliers news and rumors are abuzz about the handshake between Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love that seemed to mimic smoking a joint. Meanwhile, the jersey that LeBron James wore in his first return to the Q already generated an $8,000 bid.
All star point guard Kyrie Irving, however, was quick to douse all those Cleveland Cavaliers news and rumors concerning their handshake, said ESPN.
He said that instead of a rolling a joint, they are actually twisting their moustaches.
"It's a simple twist of our mustaches. I guess Kevin's hand got a little wild there. But for us, it was literally just a twist of our mustaches. It's just a handshake that we do. We make a little noise afterwards," the 6-3 player said.
"You know, that's it. That's it. It might be close to our lip, but it's just a little twist of our mustache. That's it. Does that clear it up?" he added.
Kyrie Irving also promised to continue the handshake with Kevin Love despite the controversy it generated.
"We're going to do it more now. This is an awesome handshake we're not going to change. Nothing illegal, nothing we're trying to get across. It's just a simple twist of our mustache right here, that's it," he added.
Coach David Blatt also joked with reporters regarding Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love's handshake.
"No questions about 'Stachegate,' huh? I thought I was going to get 'Stachegate' questions!" he said.
In other Cleveland Cavaliers news and rumors, CBS Ohio reported that the jersey LeBron James wore in his first regular season as a member of the Cavs, on October 30 against the New York Knicks, was already placed on the auction bloc.
The jersey already has a bid which is just under $8,000.
"The jersey has a custom microphone pouch used for James' mic'd up audio," the report said. "Bidding ends on November 20 at 9:05 p.m. ET."
