"The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd opens up that leaving the show was hard for her. The latest news about the Broadway performer's thought was brought up during an interview with Steve Harvey. According to Media ITE, Shepherd seemed to have no regrets about her exit, though she admitted "It was hard leaving." When asked if she missed being in ABC's morning talk show, she denied it.

"No. No I don't," she said. "I love my family - Whoopi's there - but this is a new team, and God said it was time to go. If you don't go when God says go, you're going to be in a lot of trouble if you stay."

Reportedly, Shepherd revealed that she was still in touch with her previous workmates, she even mentioned Whoopi Goldberg as one of her best friends.

"Whoopi is the same woman you see on TV who will open her heart up to you," she stated, and told this awesome story about how she'd showed up to Shepherd's recent Broadway production, Cinderella.

Looking back, Shepherd gets emotional as she and Jenny McCarthy talk over their departure from the talk show in August according to NY Daily News.

"A lot of producers have known since the spring that I didn't intend to return after my contract ends in August. I didn't want to discuss anything in my personal life because I didn't want to do anything to distract from Barbara Walters and her (retirement) celebration in May," Shepherd stated on-air Monday.

"You know I'm a woman of faith, and seven is the number of God's completion. I've been here seven years, and my time with 'The View' is complete. I'm going to forever be grateful to Barbara Walters and (producer) Bill Geddie for taking a chance on an actress and making me learn things, helping me step out of my comfort zone. They gave me a chance."

Sherri Shepherd was with "The View" for seven years after ABC's proposed overhaul came as a surprise to her.
