Casey Kasem news reported that the late radio star's second wife and adult children from his first family are feuding over his insurance money, worth an estimated $2 Million.
According to Casey Kasem news reported by KJRH, Kerri Kasem and her siblings have slammed their stepmother with another case, this time to ensure that she does not get their late father's million-dollar life insurance policy.
The camp consists of Casey Kasem's three children with his first wife Linda, who claim that Jean Kasem's neglect for their father led to his death.
Because of causing his death, Jean Kasem should supposedly not take part of the insurance policy of the late "American Top 40" host, said Casey Kasem news reported by KJRH.
Just recently, a report from New York Daily News said Kerri Kasem and her group has pleaded with a judge for their father's corpse to be sent back from Norway to America.
The distraught daughter of the late radio star claims that Casey Kasem's dead body is said to be "rotting" at a mortuary in Norway, where Jean Kasem reportedly escaped following accusations of elder abuse.
Kerri Kasem detailed that her stepmother did not have Casey Kasem's dead body embalmed before taking it to Norway.
The declaration filed by Kerri Kasem in Los Angeles Country Superior Court claimed that Casey Kasem's dead body has "decayed significantly" after being "left unrefrigerated for some amount of time."
"They had to use three containers and then seal the box with caulk because the smell was so bad," Kerri Kasem detailed, reported by from New York Daily News.
"The body is decomposing, and probate code states that if the party with priority fails to bury remains, then the duty to bury can go to the next person on the list. So if a spouse doesn't act, then children or siblings can step in," explained the representative of Kerri Kasem and her group.
The spokesperson continued: "I think what Jean has done with the body is horrifying. It's contrary to everything I've learned about transporting a body."
"I believe she's intentionally doing this because we obtained an order authorizing a private autopsy," the rep added, reported by New York Daily News.
The radio veteran's death has been surrounded by intrigues as Casey Kasem's children said their father was being kept away from them by their stepmother, Jean Kasem.
According to People magazine, the feud started after the beloved radio star became sick with Parkinson's and dementia, then eventually died last June 15 in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Kerri Kasem then sent a lawyer to Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Tacoma, Washington, where Casey Kasem's body was confirmed by police to be missing.
