"How To Get Away with Murder" cast Liza Weil claimed that her character Bonnie is the "Ice Queen" because of her steely nature. Bonnie's relationship with the murdered Sam, however, remains unclear at this point.
"She's an ice queen who will leave your high-five hanging, but will make a booty call on Murder Night," according to TV Guide. "She's incredibly devoted to Annalise, yet blatantly undresses Sam with her eyes. Weil herself doesn't really know what Bonnie's true colors are, and says she created the character's backstory on her own, after she landed the part."
"How to Get Away with Murder" cast Liza Weil explained: "I think she is somebody who always puts work first and is always immersed in work, so other aspects of her life might be underdeveloped. I think she has a bit of arrested development socially and maybe more in terms of romantic liaisons."
But what about Bonnie's relationship to Sam? "How to Get Away with Murder" cast Liza Weil said that the writers have managed to do a good job of leaving that part "open-ended."
She said that Bonnie might be crushing on Sam because of her own dedication to Annalise. At this point, all she knows about family are through Annalise and Sam. The whole thing "started out innocently and it became more and more inappropriate without her realizing it."
"It's a very interesting story point that Annalise is aware of it and does let it happen. Whether it's part of her manipulation or something she knows Bonnie needs in order to do what she needs to do is really intriguing," she added.
For the rest of the season, the fans will get to know Bonnie more and who her ideal partner would be.
Previously, Marc Silver of The Washington Post wrote that the series has become quite confusing.
He said that he likes the show and is of the opinion that Viola Davis deserves an Emmy for her portrayal of Annalise Keating. He also said that he can usually get the gist of the show, if not for the "flash forward" scenes where Annalise's students help her get rid of the body of her husband.
It came to a point where he had to ask his wife whether or not she also finds the show confusing. To which he got a reply in the affirmative.
