Roy Hodgson's side currently sit top of Group E with maximum points from their opening three games and victory over Slovenia will see them take a major step to the final in France in 2016.
"Three wins out of three. We've kept clean sheets as well, so it has been really positive and we're looking forward to the next two games," said the Liverpool midfielder.
"A lot of people have come back fit. It's nice to see Theo Walcott back in the squad after such a long time out, Michael Carrick's come back into the squad, and obviously a call-up as well up front for Saido Berahino, so it's good times for England and good competition for places.
"It's what you want as a footballer, you always want competition, it gets you playing at your best and keeps you on your toes."
Liverpool are well represented in the squad and Lallana is delighted to have the familiar faces of Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Rickie Lambert with him, while he expects Daniel Sturridge to be back with the party when he recovers from injury.
"It's nice with Hendo, Sturridge, when he's fit, Raheem, Lambo, so it is good and it's exciting," he said.
"All footballers will say 'the more you train and play with players the better relationship you have on and off the pitch. So it is good and it's good for England."
And Sterling has already caught the eye of Lallana in his short time at Liverpool, but the latter reckons the teenager is having to deal with too much media scrutiny following his decision to pull out of the last England squad because of fatigue.
"He's brilliant," Lallana said. "He's six or seven years younger than me, but I kind of look up to him and the way he plays. He deals with a lot of pressure at such a young age, and the way he's performed for club and country is quite exceptional.
"It all gets blown out of proportion by you guys. We're just happy to play football, and maybe for him to be too honest he's come in for some unfair criticism. He a top lad and a great player.
"He's still only 19, he's got a lot of developing to do and I'm sure he'll tell you that, but the talent he is he's obviously better on the pitch than off the field for England."
Lallana is relishing the prospect of teaming up with Sturridge for both club and country when the striker regains full-fitness.
"He had a good World Cup and he's really come on in the last two years on the international stage," he added.
"The sooner we get him fit the better. But Wellbeck and Rooney have done well and scored the goals in the last few games, so it's always good that when we have players suspended or injured we have someone who can fill in.
"It's a big squad. Ross Barkley's come back into the squad as well, so it's strong. You look at the squad and it's got depth definitely, so people will be looking to grasp their chance if give one.
"We've got a friendly against Scotland next week which is a big game, so if people get chances then I'm sure they'll be looking to impress."
