Despite all the hate surrounding their relationship, Ian Somerhalder and girlfriend Nikki Reed continue to go strong as they were spotted in yet another gala event. Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" actor posted a message on his Instagram about the need to protect the environment.
According to Just Jared, Ian Somerhalder and girlfriend Nikki Reed attended the 2014 Unlikely Heroes Awards Dinner Gala held at the Sofitel Hotel on in Los Angeles on November 8.
"The 35-year-old 'Vampire Diaries' star was joined at the event by his girlfriend Nikki Reed, and caught up with Just Jared's Jared Eng inside. The event was sponsored by XXIV Karat," it said.
In another event, Ian Somerhalder and girlfriend Nikki Reed posed for a selfie with former president Bill Clinton, and the actor took the time to post his own environmental message on his Instagram.
"A night out with @iamnikkireed and this amazing guy, our Former President @BillClinton @ClintonFdn discussing the best, most efficient and collaborative way to make true positive change in our country and our world," he wrote. "Whatever side of an aisle you're on or group you work with or believe in-it's our responsibility to be good to one another, teach our young people and protect our environment through reverence, gratitude and compassion. Meanwhile, another photo on his Instagram shows Ian Somerhalder and girlfriend Nikki Reed riding horses. He then wrote a caption:
