The latest LA Lakers news reveal a very frustrated coach Byron Scott seemingly throwing his hands up when it comes to the team's defensive schemes. Meanwhile, co-owner Joey Buss is preaching patience in light of the team's woeful start.

If the LA Lakers news from ESPN is the basis, the future is not very bright for the purple and gold.

"To be honest with you, most of the time, the things that we want to do, they haven't done," he said. "And I don't know if it's because they're incapable of doing it or not."

Byron Scott issued the statement following the New Orleans Hornets drubbing of the LA Lakers, 109-102. The final score didn't fully illustrate just how lopsided it was, led by the Hornets' young star Anthony Davis, as the Lakers trailed by as many as 23 points at one point.

"They got pretty much anything they wanted in the paint with no resistance whatsoever. It was just terrible. That was probably the worst defense that we've played from the preseason all the way to this particular point," he added.

In other LA Lakers news, Joey Buss talked to LA Times about the team's struggles.

"My father instilled patience in me. That was a great take away from him. Others were a positive attitude and inclusiveness. Those three aspects hold true to me," he said.

Although he handles the D-League team of the Lakers, the Defenders, Joey Buss, also has a huge role to play in the purple and gold team as he serves as an alternate governor of the Board of Governors for six years now.

His brother Jim Buss is in charge of basketball operations while elder sister Jeanie is in charge of all business operations.

"Jim's empowered to make basketball decisions, with Mitch (general manager Kupchak). He's assured all of us, including Jeanie, they don't need any help. They've got it covered. We're just in a position to support and trust," Joey Buss said.
