Is Steve Carell joining 'Magic Mike XXL' after starring with Channing Tatum in 'Foxcatcher?'
According to 'The Office' star, making an appearance in the 'Magic Mike' sequel as a male stripper is definitely not for him.
"Probably never," he told E! News, when asked about the possible cameo during the AFI Fest premiere of his new movie with Tatum in Hollywood.
When prompted for the reason, the 52-year-old comedian simply answered, "Because I don't have a good body."
Good body or not, Carell is still enjoying a great career. E! News reported that the 'Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' star has been garnering some Oscar buzz thanks to his performance in 'Foxcatcher.'
"It makes me supremely uncomfortable," he said. "I think it makes everybody uncomfortable."
However, he did admit that it was "nice to be talked about that way."
He also added, "It's nice to be part of that conversation. You can't put too much stock into it."
The Oscar buzz might not have such a big impact for the funny man's teenage daughter, Elizabeth, who was more excited about Tatum starring alongside her father in 'Foxcatcher' than anything else.
"She's probably picking out a dress right now," he joked, adding that Elizabeth has yet to meet Tatum in person.
Perhaps Steve Carell joining 'Magic Mike XXL' would also be a bad idea if his daughter was a big Channing Tatum fan. It would definitely be an embarrassing experience to see her father ripping off his pants alongside one of her favorite actors.
At least she would still get to see Tatum acting with her dad though. In 'Foxcatcher,' Carell plays real life wrestling coach John du Pont who pushed Mark Shultz (Tatum) down a dark crowd just to get the gold medal.
Do you think Steve Carell joining 'Magic Mike XXL' or any 'Magic Mike' flick for that matter will ever happen? What role would he be taking on?
