The new Final Fantasy 15 trailer is ten minutes long, with cinematics and gameplay showcased.

Square Enix recently released the latest Final Fantasy 15 trailer, and it's long enough (ten minutes) to make fans of the RPG series salivate.

The Final Fantasy XV trailer was originally showcased October at the Paris Game Festival, but the difference in the release is that it runs at 1080p, and comes directly from Square Enix.

The preview is gorgeous in 1080p, with in-game demos of the actual world to be explored. Square Enix does mention the demo is representative of a game in progress, though. "This is a work in progress. The final product may be subject to change."

The game is actually halfway through to completion, with a release date yet to be determined. Director Hajime Tabata talks about the games development, and the transition from the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4.

"The game was first established as Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and we transitioned to Final Fantasy XV for next-gen consoles. That transition was made about two years ago, and I was put in charge of that project. Since then, we've re-evaluated the development team, the development structure, and the process." Tabata estimates three to four hours of gameplay on the demo; around an hour on the story campaign, the rest exploring the world and testing battles with the monsters in it.

A Final Fantasy 15 release date seems too far on the horizon, but Tabata says first access will be given to those who purchase Final Fantasy Type-0, to be released next year.

When asked if it's going to take another eight years: definitely not. I'm afraid we can't say how long it's going to take from here. But, since the transition to XV, we've gotten this far (55%) in two years."
